The Future of Slasher U on itch.io

Good morning Student Disembody! I have just received news of What The Hell is Going On At Itchio re: itchio suddenly and without notice completely collapsing their entire adult games market!

So far here's what I have figured out:

SU isn't the only game affected by this (it seems like it's a huge swathe of itchio, including queer and furry content that isn't NSFW), so there's already a number of movements to counter their actions!

In short, this sweep happened because Collective Shout, an Australian conservative censorship group, coordinated (in their words) "1,000 calls to Mastercard/Visa" and itchio had an outsize reaction and destroyed a huge portion of their game base. (Brief link included!)

If you'd like to help out, you can: Call Visa or Mastercard, or sign this ACLU petition as they gear up for a court case against them!

In the meantime, since, er, Slasher U is how I pay my rent (*tugs collar* I'm in danger ha ha oh god), and you can no longer FIND it organically on itch, if you wanna reblog, share, support, or just post Slasher U somewhere on the internet where people can see it, know that from the bottom of my heart I'm thanking you SO FUCKING PROFUSELY for keeping this campus alive.

Fortunately for the Slasherverse, we're still happily available on Steam - same game, easier cloud saves! (:

The irony of making a game about media censorship and the Hays Code's effect on media for adults being censored for the EXACT SAME REASONS that inspired me to make this game in the first place is NOT lost on me, lmao. Thank you for your support, and thank you for speaking up!

xoxoxoxox, don't let the bastards grind you down, Professor Plutonium

So does this mean that act 2 might come to Steam a little sooner? I had been considering buying both here but its tough to justify buying act 1 again when I'm a big ol poor.

I totally get that! Right now I'm waiting to see if itchio will reverse its new policy (fingers crossed). The version of Act 2 that's up here is still in Alpha, & Steam's a bit more strict about how finished Early Access/Alpha games have to be, so I'm not 100% on whether the date will get moved unfortunately - but I CAN say that if you wanna play it safe on not doubling up, I'd wait for Steam since that's a sure thing re: Act 2 coming out (if that makes sense!)
